 The Appeal mechanism usually lasts for five years. A group wishing to oppose the above applications had a meeting with a trademark lawyer about this very topic. The lawyer explained about the process and informed them that even though someone were to challenge the GC trademark, the GC had the means to bury them in paperwork for years and years.

 It is also interesting to note that the letters “EGW” were trademarked by the GC in 1985! So step by step a pattern is developing.

"The message given to man for these last days is not to become amalgamated with human devising. We are not to lean upon the policy of worldly lawyers. We must be humble men of prayer, not acting like those who are blinded by Satan's agencies." 18MR 36.

The claim is that this is being done to stop libellous sites that attack Ellen and her ministry.  But I have just been informed that the main site doing this has merely changed its name--put on a disclaimer and is in business as usual. I guess all their legal tricks--using God's money to pay worldly lawyers and all that--has done absolutely nothing-The stuff is still there and the case against them looks even worse.
