When you spoke to me you said that
guy was saying that the reason there were no 'prophets' from Jesus
to 1844 was that no one was particularly interested in obeying the
Lord- and when this group got together in 1844- then that caused
the gift to come--
That is the biggest pile of horse
feathers I every heard!!!
I hope you tell him so!
What about the Waldenses? Their whole
lives revolved around protecting, studying, writing and
distributing the true Bible- (the one Doug Bachelor prefers NOT to
use) Few of them lived out their lives- they died on the
scaffolds, at the stakes and in dungeons- I guess that was because
they were not particularly interested in obeying God - eh??
What about the 150 million or so
martyrs that died in the inquisitions - burned, tortured- exiled-
beaten - rotting away literally in dungeons? I guess they weren't
particularly interested in following the Lord- HUH?
What about the Anabaptists- thousands
of which were burned, drowned and tortured- simply for refusing to
have their infant children baptized-- contrary to the Bible-- I
guess they didn't care much about obeying the Lord-- Really!!
I have news for you also- the true
prophetic gift was always present with these people- all
down through the ages- But Ellen White was not a mere prophet to
serve the church - she was the special messenger of the Lord -
sent to prepare the way of the Lord - and to announce the
fulfillment of the 2300 day prophecy and Jesus' work in the
heavenly sanctuary!! The final Elijah Prophet!
No error is harmless - and these false
ideas being put forth by SDAs have great danger to those who
blindly accept them - they give people the idea that God's
schedule revolves around them and they can 'cause' God - to do
what they want.
Then some group gets together-
thinking if they go to extremes-- it will force God to send a
prophet - sure enough they get all hyped up and one of them has a
dream or sees something or gets impressions and zip - there goes
another off shoot!!
It is strange how at times I most need
spiritual strength and blessing, the temptation comes to me to
feel that somehow these 'religious' things are not practical and I
need to concentrate on solving the 'realtime' problem at hand. But
I find if I instead turn to the promises of God and look into the
merciful and all sufficiency of my Saviour--it is the most
practical thing one can find in this confusing world. And when
focused on Him, somehow the 'realtime' problems seem to no longer
have power to distress and fret me. Dead people don't get
frustrated and when I am dead to self, and Jesus is alive in
me--He handles all the problems and leads me through the mazes and
snares that are strewn in my path.
"God would not have us remain pressed
down by dumb sorrow, with sore and breaking hearts. He would have
us look up and behold His dear face of love. The blessed Saviour
stands by many whose eyes are so blinded by tears that they do not
discern Him. He longs to clasp our hands, to have us look to Him
in simple faith, permitting Him to guide us. His heart is open to
our griefs, our sorrows, and our trials. He has loved us with an
everlasting love and with loving-kindness compassed us about. We
may keep the heart stayed upon Him and meditate upon His
loving-kindness all the day. He will lift the soul above the daily
sorrow and perplexity, into a realm of peace." {MB 12.2}
"The independence and self-supremacy
in which we glory are seen in their true vileness as tokens of
servitude to Satan. Human nature is ever struggling for
expression, ready for contest; but he who learns of Christ is
emptied of self, of pride, of love of supremacy, and there is
silence in the soul. Self is yielded to the disposal of the
Holy Spirit. Then we are not anxious to have the highest place. We
have no ambition to crowd and elbow ourselves into notice; but we
feel that our highest place is at the feet of our Saviour. We look
to Jesus, waiting for His hand to lead, listening for His voice to
guide. The apostle Paul had this experience, and he said, "I am
crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by
the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for
me." Galatians 2:20. When we receive Christ as an abiding
guest in the soul, the peace of God, which passeth all
understanding, will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The Saviour's life on earth, though lived in the midst of
conflict, was a life of peace. While angry enemies were constantly
pursuing Him, He said, "He that sent Me is with Me: the Father
hath not left Me alone; for I do always those things that please
Him." John 8:29. No storm of human or satanic wrath could disturb
the calm of that perfect communion with God. And He says to us, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you." {MB 15.1}
This is truly what I want the most-
the 'silence of the soul!'

Will this wake anyone up?….
just read on…..
What does Pope Benedict XVI,
Cardinal Walter Kaspar, President of the Pontifical Council
for Promoting Christian Unity; Dr. Hans Kung, a prolific Roman
Catholic scholar who served as an expert theological advisor to
members of the Second Vatican Council; and
Dr. Jan Paulsen, President of the General
Conference of Seventh-day Adventist have in common?
The UNIVERSITY OF TUBINGEN in Germany!
"The University of Tübingen has a history of innovative thought,
particularly in theology, in which the university and the Tubinger
Stiff are famous to this day. Philipp Melanchthon (1497-1560) the
prime mover in building the German school system and a chief figure in
the Protestant Reformation, helped establish its direction. Among
Tübingen's eminent students (and/or professors) have been the
astronomer Johannes Kepler; JOSEPH RATZINGER, former Cardinal and
currently Pope Benedict XVI. ….."

· Hans Kung, Roman Catholic theologican, critic of the catholic
doctrine (now banned from teaching Roman Catholic theology).
·
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI,

· Miroslav Volf, Christian theologian at Yale University.
·
Jan Paulsen, Seventh-day Adventist
Church President!
Paulsen is also the first Adventist Church world president to hold a
doctorate degree, which he obtained from the University of Tubingen.
The following is taken from the Pope’s biography:
"After this I accepted a position at the University of Tübingen, with
the idea of being closer to the ‘school of Tübingen’, which did
theology in a historical and ecumenical way. In 1968 there was
a very violent explosion of Marxist theology , and so when I was
offered a position at the new University of Regensburg…."
Can you believe this? The future pope leaves Tubingen for another
university because of the Marxist theology! [actually they are all the
same philosophy, just tricking us] More from another biography about
him:
1966 Ratzinger takes a second chair in dogmatic
theology at the University of Tübingen. His appointment is vigorously
supported and secured by fellow professor Hans Küng. …..
1968 A wave of student uprisings sweeps across
Europe, and Marxism quickly becomes the dominant
intellectual system at Tübingen, indoctrinating not only
his students but many of the faculty as well. Witnessing the
subordination of religion to Marxist political ideology, Ratzinger
observes:
There was an instrumentalization by ideologies that were tyrannical,
brutal, and cruel. That experience made it clear to me that the abuse
of faith had to be resisted precisely if one wanted to uphold the will
of the Council [Salt of the Earth].
1969 Scandalized by his encounter with radical
ideology at Tübingen, Ratzinger moves back to Bavaria to take a
teaching position at the University of Regensburg. He eventually
becomes dean and vice president and later, theological advisor to the
German bishops.
JAN PAULSEN: From the General Conference web page:
http://www.gcsession.org/media-kit/pdf/jan_paulsen_bio.pdf
EDUCATION:
After completing his early education in Narvik, Norway, Paulsen
attended the Danish Junior College, Vejlefjord, where he received
ministerial training between 1952-1954. In 1957 he earned a BA at
Emmanuel Missionary College, now Andrews University. After completing
his MA studies at the Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. in
1958, he earned a Bachelor of Divinity in 1962 from the Seventh-day
Adventist Theological Seminary, newly relocated at Andrews University.
In June, 1972, Paulsen completed his graduate studies at the Tubingen
University in Germany. He was the first Adventist to earn a Doctor in
Theology from the Protestant faculty of any German university.
His dissertation research was illustrative of how historic
Christianity settles into a primal religion culture.
[you notice how they stress PROTESTANT.
Well, that is a white lie
[no pun intended].
"Tubingen University was founded in 1477 by Duke Eberhard as
Reformation seminary to train Protestant ministers during the
Reformation. Malanchthon, the German Reformer who did much to help
the cause of the Protestant Reformation, received his M.A. from
Tubingen University in 1512. Unfortunately, by 1817,
Tubingen added a Roman Catholic faculty
to the school and this resulted in the unfolding of Protestantism!
Consequently, Tubingen University became one of the first
religious seminaries to teach Ecumenical Theology." And,
according to the new Pope, it was also teaching Marxism Theology by
1968!
Now, why in the world does Jan Paulson attend Tubingen? It is steeped
in Marxist theology, and that is from the pope’s own mouth! Was
Walter Kaspar one of his professors? What about Dr. Hans Kung?
Professor Dr. Hans Küng (Switzerland)
Professor of Ecumenical Theology, University of Tübingen,
President of the Foundation for a Global Ethic (Welethos).
Dr. Hans Küng is a scholar of theology and philosophy and prolific
writer. He studied philosophy and theology at the Gregorian
University (Rome) [I wonder if Bacchiochi was one of his
classmates!], the Sorbonne, and the Institut Catholique de Paris. In
addition, Dr. Küng holds numerous awards and honorary degrees from
several universities.
Dr. Küng is President of the Foundation for a Global Ethic (Weltethos).
From 1960 until his retirement in 1996, he was Professor of
Ecumenical Theology and Director of the Institute for Ecumenical
Research at the University of Tübingen. Folks, that is
the time period when Paulsen attended, 1972.
Cardinal Walter Kasper became a member of the
theological faculty of Tubingen in 1958. He is now Secretary of the
Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity. His
job is to coordinate all the ecumenical activities for the
Roman Catholic Church.
HELLO OUT THERE!
Samuele Bacchiocchi is the first Adventist to
graduate from the Jesuit Pontifical Gregorian University and Paulsen
is the first Adventist to graduate from Tubingen. Here is a
description of Bacchiochi’s alma mater:
"The Gregorian University (formerly the Collegio Romano) was created
in 1551 by Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuits. It is the
first school established by the Jesuits in Rome. Among the illustrious
ex-alumni there are 14 popes."
Wonder how many other Jesuit trained SDA theologians we have running
around, ones that are not so bold to let us know where they were
trained? Actually these two men were probably trained beforehand,
just went here to
polish their theology, so they could be
invited into higher Adventist circles.
Don't be surprised
if the SDA Church organization tries to get us 'simple'
Adventists to accept the Sunday Law.
(Temcat's note)
Gregorianna: Continuing the topic of
Bacchiocchi and his Alma Mater:
Even if he was a solid rock SDA - would it not
have been presumption to attend the flag-ship Jesuit university?- the
greatest one in the world?— the one established originally to destroy
Protestantism??
Would it not be presumption of the rankest sort
to say, "Oh, I won't be deceived; I can stick my head into the lion's
very mouth; I can breath the sulphurous fumes of the Dragon's very
breath; and I am so strong in the faith, I will not be effected!!"
This quote answers the whole idea:
"I was shown the
necessity of those who believe that we are having the last message of
mercy, being separate from those who are daily imbibing new errors. I
saw that neither young nor old should attend their meetings; for it is
wrong to thus encourage them while they teach error that is a deadly
poison to the soul and teach for doctrines the commandments of men.
The influence of such gatherings is not good. If God has delivered us
from such darkness and error, we should stand fast in the liberty
wherewith He has set us free and rejoice in the truth. God is
displeased with us when we go to listen to error, without being
obliged to go; for unless He sends us to those meetings where error is
forced home to the people by the power of the will, He will not keep
us. The angels cease their watchful care over us, and we are left to
the buffetings of the enemy, to be darkened and weakened by him and
the power of his evil angels; and the light around us becomes
contaminated with the darkness." -TI- Early Writings of Ellen G.
White -PG- 124
And then he is not repentant
for this - he has been known to appear before SDA congregations
sporting his full Jesuit robes - and then whines that some people say
he is a Jesuit! Well...duhh! If one is TRULY walking in the faith of
our forefathers - one would be ashamed of such stuff! A true lover of
God's pure truth and a respecter of the millions of tortured martyrs
for Jesus who's moans and cries still echo in the ears of the Lord of
Sabbaoth; would not be caught dead showing off these vile robes!
Even if he went in a
saint--and a saint wouldn't go there; there's no way he could not be
contaminated!
Fools walk where even angels
would fear to tread: and cannot this be said also for those who dote
on his words??
temcat
Temcat: We are
in this world to help each other- that is God's plan--that we each study
for ourselves and stand alone with God on decisions BUT that we share
with one another and help on information and sharing our experiences
etc.
The
Predestination thing is based on a misunderstanding of God. God has
pre-knowledge but that does not in any way force anyone to be 'born to
be lost'. Jesus did everything and gave every opportunity to Judas to
help him to overcome the greed and selfishness of his heart--like Satan,
many times Judas 'almost surrendered but PRIDE forbade him'. When he
went out that night he himself had made the final decision.
Basically God
has declared there will be 2 classes-- Those that serve Him and those
that ultimately and irrevocably refuse to serve Him. The FINAL DESTINY
of those 2 classes is predestined. The group who turn from rebellion and
serve God will be saved; the group who persistently refuse and continue
in rebellion will be destroyed. BUT and here is the big point! EACH
PERSON makes the choice which group he will be in. No one is forced to
be in the
lost group and no one is forced to be in the saved group. Our decisions
decide the group we end up in.
God at no
point or in no way ever points to a certain person and says arbitrarily,
"OK John Jones! I don't like you and I don't care what you do or how
much you plead with me to save you, you are going to HELL!" Never, Never
does our loving Father reject any person, no matter how unpromising, who
chooses to cease his rebellion and surrenders to serve Him. Jesus says:
John 6:37 ". . .him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." Also
the Holy Spirit strives to woo every single soul that is ever born on
this earth:
John 1:9 "That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh
into the world."
I am going to try and give a list of items that can contribute to this
question:
http://www.sdadefend.com/MINDEX-G.htm
go to this page and get the 3 articles about the people who are trying
to
teach now that God does NOT have pre-knowledge. These article will have
information in them that help understand the predestination error.

____God, ignorance of error: WM-1057 THE INFINITE WISDOM OF GOD Dec 01
____God, ignorance of error: WM-1058 GOD KNOWS THE FUTURE Dec 01
Then go here:

and get
____Predestination: WM-1259 HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES GOD HAVE TO SAVE? Feb

Also in the Library-I just put the e-book of 'Defending the Godhead'-
that
is a good reference.
http://www.sdadefend.com/MINDEX-Resource%20Library.htm
it is right on top.
These items will at least get you started into understanding and
explaining this error.
Another thing that is good is to look up in Patriarchs and Prophets the
section about Pharaoh "Hardening his heart". It explains very well that
though in places the Bible states that God hardened Pharaoh's heart- and
in other places says that Pharaoh hardened his own heart- either way, it
was Pharaoh that MADE THE DECISION to reject truth and harden his heart
against
it.
