Reply to a person saying that our not advocating and supporting so-called 'Deliverence Ministries' leaves people 'helpless':

Dear Friend;

Nowhere does the Bible say we should set up 'deliverance ministries' to deal with demons-- any truly born again Christian can rebuke the devil in the Name of the Lord and he will flee. The less hoopla the better.

Some times it is true that especially at first a demon possessed person will need someone to pray with and for him but any born again Christian should be able to do this. It is true many so-called Christians refuse to even believe in Satan-- but that does not mean we have to have special 'ministries' to deal with this.

I have dealt with demons myself, plenty, and I know the more they can get your attention the more they carry on.

The person needs to be taught that they have a power given them of God and that is freedom of choice--Making a solid choice to resist and calling on the Name of Jesus for power to resist will set a person free.

You can by continuing to pray for the person asking God to bind the power of Satan and let the person be free to seek the Lord for their self, but ultimately it is the person themselves that must make the positive choice and refuse the advancments of the devil--it takes a while sometimes for a person to recognize and admit whatever it is that is leaving them open to the harrassment. Any born again friend or family member can help by prayer and pointing the person to Jesus AND His WORD.

The power can come back through the person returning to attitudes and practices that led to the problem to start with. When tempted they must make a positive choice to do right and turn from selfish and antagonistic attitudes -- call on the Name of Jesus and turn the thoughts to Him.

 Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

The WORD of the Lord is a wonderful weapon against devil harrassment-Memorizing promises and also getting it on Audio and playing it as much as possible- especially when temptations or distress is active. It should be KJV--Alexander Scourby's one are my favourite. Fill the mind with the WORD!
